Samantha Maiden is national political editor for News Corp Sundays, publications including the Sunday Telegraph, Sunday Herald Sun, Sunday Mail (Qld & SA), Sunday Times, Sunday Tasmanian. Adelaide born, Samantha has been a journalist since 1994. She is a former political correspondent and columnist for The Advertiser and The Australian newspaper. Based in Canberra since 1998, she is a regular contributor to Sky News and broke the news of Julia Gillard's elevation as Prime Minister without a ballot in June last year via a text message from a Labor MP inside the meeting.
