Tell us a bit about you. How did you get to where you are today? What led you to become a storyteller?

Watching A Current Affair when Mike Willesee nailed the dodgy vacuum cleaner salesman. Spectacular tabloid TV journalism. (Probably before you were born.) Ruined for life.

A career moment I’m proud of is …

The tv documentary I, Psychopath when, hubristically, I decided I needed to know what it was like to hang out up close and personal with a corporate psychopath. He won, I nearly went mad. The film won a spot at the “Cannes” of TV doco festivals in Amsterdam.

Something or someone I’m inspired by is …

Music. Every day. More necessary than oxygen.

The time/place I’m most creative is …

Asleep. Around 4.30am.

A kind of innovation that excites me is …

The oldest idea flipped via technology to seem brand new. Like listening to the wireless on your smartphone. Podcasts are the new black.

Other storytellers I admire are …

Werner Herzog, Dr Seuss, Michael Stipe, Naomi Wolf.

I would advise my 15-year-old self …

To ditch the fringe and practice guitar more.

At Storyology I can’t wait to share …

My vegemite sandwich with someone who can swap for something more exotic.

The Storyology session I’m looking forward to is …

The one just before lunch.
