A Gamilaraay man from Moree NSW, Danny has been studying and working in film for nearly 15 years. After releasing his award winning short film “Mah” Danny moved into documentary filmmaking working alongside some of the country’s best filmmakers and production houses. In 2012 Danny worked with Indigenous youth in Kakadu to write and direct Songline to Happiness, receiving Best Short Documentary at the 2012 ImagineNATIVE Film Festival in Toronto, Canada. Danny studied Documentary at Metro Screen Sydney and has been awarded two film scholarships as a result of his passion for social change storytelling. Danny also started his own production company, Gondwana Productions, in 2008 working predominantly for NITV on Documentary & Outside Broadcasts. Gondwana Productions has produced over 200 hours of content for NITV. Danny has also produced broadcast works for ABC, SBS, BBC 4 and the Foxtel Network. Danny is a full-time videojournalist for NITV. Danny is driven to tell the real stories from Indigenous Australia and has worked right throughout Australia with Indigenous communities, organisations and Traditional Owners to tell unique and engaging Aboriginal stories through Aboriginal eyes. Danny is passionate about telling unique social change stories that challenge, confront and question injustice, racism, environmental issues and poverty in Australia and around the world.
